Recreation and Area Features:
Concho Lake is approximately 48 miles South-West of the property, is one of
Arizona's few spring-fed lakes. In the 1970's, the Arizona Game & Fish
Department built a camping/picnic area with two boat ramps and started stocking
the lake annually with Rainbow Trout. The lake is open year round and early
morning or dusk visits are the best time for viewing Eagles, Migrating Bird Flocks.
Concho Valley Country Club & Golf Course
World Class Golf Course with beautiful natural surroundings. Created by famed
course architect Arthur Jack Snyder. Open to the public for daily play with on
grounds Golf Shop and Restaurant.
The White Mountains recreational area abounds in World Class hunting, fishing and
camping along with trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding and off-road vehicles.
There are many of lakes and streams for fishing within a 60 mile radius offering
Trout, Bass, Catfish, and other Game Fish. Hunters come for the great opportunities to hunt
Elk, Deer, Antelope, Turkey, Bear, and Javalina.
The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest is 66 miles to the South. The Forest
covers almost 2 million acres, has 25 mountain lakes and more than 400 miles of
rivers and streams. With a wide range of terrain, filled with over 400 species of
fish and wildlife.
· St. Johns is 28 miles to the south,offers many amenities including;
Public Library, Elementary and High School, Gas Stations,
Auto Repair Shops and Parts Stores, Movie Theatre, Pharmacy .
· Lyman Lake state park is 45 minutes away.
Gallup (New Mexico) is 60 miles and Snowflake is about 67 miles.
· Canyon de Chelly on the Navajo Reservation is 105 miles to
the north with many of the ruins very accessible to automobile travelers.
