Let me tell you his story as brief as I can. Boots is a black and white pit bull with an awesome personality. Unfortunately, his owner who is staying with me temporarily is not able to do what needs to be done to save Boots from death row at animal control. See, the kids left my sliding door ajar and he got out. A woman walking her Shar pei, this same Shar pei has gone after Boots and Josh when they have been walking, when Boots saw them walking by he went over the fence at the Shar pei. Josh was right on it and ran out called Boots and that was it. Josh talked to the lady and looked at the dog, told the lady he was sorry and if there was anything wrong to get ahold of him and he would help. The dog was ok as far as Josh could see. Couple days later animal control showed up to site Josh and was unable to catch up with him to issue a citation, well from there the court date came and went, Josh missed it and they came and seized Boots. Josh loves Boots but he has so much financial responsibility at this time that there isn't anyway he can comply. In order for Boots to stay in Washoe Co. he has to have a special kennel and dangerous dog insurance. But if Boots could find a home outside of Washoe Co. animal control will let Boots go. My goal is to save Boots, but time is of the essence. An Control has already submitted something to the courts so they can destroy him. The officer I spoke with today said he would let his superior know that I was going to give it one more attempt. So I am pleading with anyone in the outlining counties to please help if they can. Boots is just over a year old very playful loves his ball and trained. He loves people and children and very gentle when it comes to puppies. He can be a little aggressive to other dogs he doesn't know but very containable. obeys his owner. I have never seen Boots not able to make friends with another dog as long as the introductions are done properly. If I could I would take him myself, but Washoe Co only allows us to have 3 dogs if living in a congested area. If someone would like to have Boots join their family he would make a great addition. We have to work fast! We would have to meet at animal control and you would need to show proof that you dont live in Washoe County, and then Josh could sign him over to you. Boots doesn't deserve to be put down. Thank you for taking the time and God Bless. My name is Rachel, e-mail first and then I will give my number. Please only serious responses thanks.
