Splash is a gorgeous registered Appaloosa gelding, 13 years old, 16.2 HH. (Registered name Pacific Splash). Flashy boy! His loud coloring of red roan spots really makes him stand out; thick healthy mane, tail, and forelock; Quarter horse build. This is a talented gelding for showing Open, B System, and Class A ApHC for a Non Pro or Youth. He would also make a fantastic High School Equestrian Team or 4-H horse for the rider who wants to advance to a higher level.
Splash has excellent conformation and is a beautiful mover who has a great extended trot and big, rocking horse canter, very comfortable and smooth ride. He does it all -- English, western, dressage, trail, showmanship. Would make a great jumper! He moves out nicely for English hunt seat and is classy for showmanship. He also has a lot of rhythm with a natural ability and desire to go slow for Western Pleasure. He has had months and months of professional training and is ridden regularly. He is NOT a horse for the beginner rider however, as he can be stubborn and will test his rider. He would be fine for an intermediate rider who has a strong hand and can show him who's the boss--once he knows you're the boss, he's good. He needs to be ridden consistently, as he does like to work and gets bored just sitting in the pasture. He is not a push-button horse.
Splash is up-to-date on vaccinations, negative coggins, and goes barefoot. He stands well for tacking, farrier, vet, grooming and bathing, also loads, ties and lunges. He is currently stalled and keeps a tidy stall. He has also been pastured with mares and geldings, and prefers grazing outdoors rather than stall. He is a very easy keeper with no health issues whatsoever.
Looking for a wonderful, long term home for him. My daughter has had him for almost 8 years, and we are only his second owners, so he is a very special horse. Splash will go only to an approved home. Unfortunately, personal circumstances force the sale of this outstanding gelding. My daughter does not want to sell him, but has been diagnosed with epilepsy so can't ride, and will be leaving for college this fall. Asking $4,000 OBO. Price negotiable to GREAT home. Please feel free to email with any other questions. I would like to retain first refusal for buyback.
We also have loads of tack, clothing, and gear that we would be willing to sell separately or with the horse for the right price. Please email with your name and a number and we will be happy to answer any questions and set up a time for you to come meet him. Thanks for looking!!
