I am looking for someone to half lease my horse for a year while I am away from the area. Her name is Overdose Pioneiro (or just OD or Dee for short) and she is a 17 year old chestnut mare. She is approximately 16.2 hands tall and has four white socks and a blaze. She is a registered Brazilian Sport Horse bought while living abroad in Brazil and was imported to the United States in 2005. Her pedigree can be seen here: [please contact me for website address]
I have owned her for 13 years so I know her and her history very well. She is very sweet with great ground manners. She is calm on the ground and stands well on cross-ties for just about anything-grooming, bathing, etc. She used to be shown extensively at high level jumpers (4'3-4'6), however due to time constraints over the last couple of years, she is now mainly just used for english pleasure riding. She could currently be used for pleasure, trail riding, low level dressage or small jumps (under 2'6). She requires an intermediate rider with a soft leg and quiet hands. She is very fun to ride and will do what you ask of her. She knows many dressage moves such as leg yielding, shoulder in, shoulder out, turn on the shoulder, turn on the haunches and flying lead changes. Overdose has a heart arrhythmia called atrial fibrillation that was diagnosed in April 2010. However, she has been extensively examined by cardiology specialists at the New Bolton Center who have found her heart to be structurally sound with no physical abnormalities and recommend she can continue to do low level work. This would be a half lease for $250/month for access to ride her 3 days a week. She would need to remain at the current boarding location: Sunset Valley Farm in West Chester, PA. I would then be responsible for paying for Overdose's board, shoeing, and routine veterinary expenses. For more information, don't hesitate to contact me.
