I am a six-year-old female Husky/Rottweiler/Sheppard mix named Deuce. I am a rescue from South Carolina where I was adopted at the age of 8 months. My owner has since lost his home and has no place to keep me.
I am a fast paced, athletic, energetic, and intelligent dog. I love to play fetch and I make a great running companion. However, I struggle with anxiety so daily exercise has become a requirement for me. I need a place where I can run and play all day or someone who is willing to exercise me on a daily basis.
Being that I am part Rottweiler, I am very loyal. However, this can get me into trouble because I tend to get wound up, bark, jump, and appear to be very unruly when anyone enters my home. I quickly calm down, but I know that I tend to scare people. To help with my bad habits, I am currently in training with a local dog trainer, and I also use a training collar to control my barking.
Over the years, I have lived with a variety of other dogs, both females and males, as well as small children. I don’t mind the other dogs once I get to know them, but I prefer my own space. My ideal situation would be as a single dog without children.
As far as my owner, I am looking for someone who is active and patient. I need help using my energy and I challenge someone to test my endurance! But more importantly, I need them to understand the anxiety issues I have, and I want them to work with me on my behavior.
If you cannot give me a home at this time, perhaps you could provide a suggestion as to where to go from here? I am open to all possibilities and would appreciate the help. | | | | | | | | | | | |
