What & Why
My husband and I are searching for a very loving home with adequate play space for our two year old brother and sister black labradors, Jake and Annie. We’ve had them since they were ten weeks old, and have adored the time we have spent exercising, loving and playing with them. However, with our new (human) family addition it has become nearly impossible for us to meet their needs for exercise and play/attention. It’s taken us some time to come to the difficult conclusion that it would be more fair to them, and responsible of us, to search for a loving home for them. As I mentioned before they are brother and sister, pure black labs. Mom and Dad were both hunting dogs and very talented and it!
Jake is our goofy male. A true puppy at heart. Full of energy, love and desire to play. His favorite thing to do is going to the park to play with his ball. He LOVES playing fetch and would do it all day (and night, probably) if you let him. Eager to play, though quick to tire out at the speed he runs! When he is not playing he is cuddling. When properly exercised, Jake is very obedient, which we pride ourselves on, and has such a fun, playful personality. That’s our Jake.
Annie is our sweetheart. She has exceptional skills with humans and other animals, often setting the tone for other animals in the milieu. We like to call her our “sniffer” as she is very interested in the surrounding smells, much like her mom and dad who were trained hunting dogs. We joke that she’d rather sniff out her interests all day rather than run around with a toy, though she knows how to give Jake a run for his money when it comes to play time. Her personality is slightly more subdued, though she enjoys a good fetching of Jake’s ball here and there when he shares. Annie also likes to cuddle, especially with my husband. She can be what some term “independent”, though is very obedient, as her brother.
They both love people and are beyond wonderful with our now eight month old since she was a newborn. Showing her curiosity, gentleness and concern. They’re spayed and neutered, both fully vaccinated and were recently micro chipped. Jake is slightly larger than Annie, though both are in the 80+ lb range.
Again, we are searching for a home where Jake and Annie will be loved and well exercised (they do best with at least one walk a day plus a little play time. Any more and they’d probably be in heaven!). We would prefer not to take money for them, as this is about giving them a fulfilling life, not profit! We feel strongly that they stay together and not split up into different homes. As you can see from the picture, they’re (adorably) inseparable! Please honor our request and do not respond to this posting unless you know you can provide these things for Jake and Annie. If you’re interested, let us know! We would love to meet you and have Jake and Annie do the same prior to any commitments. Please feel free to contact us by e-mail with further questions.
