The Team U.S.A. road bike was made by Raleigh to celebrate the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics road cycling event when Alexi Grewal became the first American man to win the gold. His winning bicycle is at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History. (Team bikes were Murray made by Serotta, Raleigh was a supplier.) Search 1984 Olympics or U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame for a description of Grewal's famous Los Angeles gold medal ride. It was one of the most emotional victories of the modern Olympic Games.
