Meet Apollo, a boxer, hound, terrier mix (AKA a mutt). He had a really rough life- he was surrendered to a shelter back in December, on the date of his 3rd birthday, weighing only 33lbs. His owners could no longer care for him. He was very scared in the shelter, it was so noisy and crowded. No place for a sweet boy like him.

But things have been looking up for Apollo ever since he moved in with his foster parents. He has been an amazing companion and adjusted PERFECTLY to life in the home. He loves to play, and go for walks or runs, but being an adult dog he no longer has that nervous puppy energy, and is just as content to sit and cuddle and nap with you for hours. He has never chewed or destroyed our furniture and he is house trained.

A great feature of Apollo, especially for people living in an apartment- he hardly EVER barks. Even when we walk by other dogs, he stays quiet. He has such a great disposition.

Apollo has never met a human that he hasn't liked. He loves to play, and kiss. He's even great with children! He gets along great with other dogs too, though sometimes he gets a little too excited and needs to be reminded to take it easy while playing. He is very obedient and food motivated so he has been learning commands very quickly. From sit, to lie down or hug- he's good with all the commands! When we walk he even stops and sits at every intersection!

He shows a little too much interest in his foster parent's ferrets, so he shouldn't go to a home with cats or small animals. If the ferrets weren't in the picture we'd adopt him ourselves he's such a great dog.

We're a looking for a forever home for him- with people who will give him all the love and attention he deserves. He is very special to us and has brought so much joy to our lives. I know he will make the right people/person very happy and be a wonderful, loyal companion for the rest of his life.

I almost forgot to mention, he's also extremely handsome! :)
