The SSAT is one of 2 main tests given for admission to private schools and boarding schools in the US

There are 3 main sections of the SSAT. Math (Math Achievement and Quantitative Reasoning), Verbal (Synonyms, Reading Comprehension, Analogies Completions) Essay (Ungraded but sent to schools that the candidate is applying to.

There are 2 levels of the SSAT test: Lower Level for students going into middle school; Upper Level for students entering high school (9th, 10th or 11th grade).

The test is graded according to your grade level, so a 9th grader is not graded versus an 11th grade applicant.

Many Canadian Private schools-primarily in Ontario-also use the SSAT for admission decisions.
