TaylorMade Golf Clubs--Over Analysis Hurts Your Game
Over analysing your game between shots results in poor play for the next shot.
Scientists at St. Andrews found that analysis of strokes between your golf shots has a bad effect on the golfer's technique. The researchers discovered that over analysis of a shot which just played disrupts a players technique and performance.
A group of 80 mixed beginner and skilled players were told to practice a shot till they had it right. Players discussed their play between strokes took nearly twice as long to play the shot. When they came to the next shot those players who had discussed their play needed more time to take the shot properly than those who had taken some minutes to do other, unrelated ideas.
St. Andrews physchology professor Michael Anderson said that this effect was most obvious in skilfull players who took several minutes to talk about their game, before taking the next stroke. These skilled players now played at beginner levels following their self-analysis of their play the professor observed.
Novice golfers are quite free to analyse their game as much as they desire, because they showed no effect of this kind. For more golf tips see our website TaylorMade golf clubs and also our blog [please contact me for website address] TaylorMade Golf Clubs
