Following the same recipe as the popular downloadable PC games, the Nintendo DS version of Cake Mania 3 is a casual management action puzzle. In an onscreen kitchen, players tap the stylus to click on different ingredients, in order, to create cakes and other treats for paying (but often impatient) customers. The third culinary crusade takes embattled baker Jill Evans on a journey through the ages. While she was minding her busy business, the mysterious "Timebender" suddenly appeared, whisking all of Jill's nearby friends and family away through the temporal continuum. To rescue her co-workers and companions, Jillmust practice her gastronomic magic in six era-inspired environments, including a prehistoric land of dinosaurs, a medieval village, and a distant future of amazing technological advances. In any time, the secrets to good cake-baking are care, patience, and accuracy. Keeping her customers happy earns Jillprofits that can be spent on new equipment and accessories, such as more efficient ovens, automatic cake-frosting machines, and fancy display stands.
Players can change Jill's outfits in the game, as well. The touch-screen interface adds immediacy to the sometimes frantic click-to-cook play. Cake Mania 3 features more than 80 individual levels, with 30 different kinds of customers to please. The three-quel also serves up three original mini-games: "Cakey-Makey," "Copy Cakes," and "Servo-Rama." ~ T.J. Deci, All Game GuideCake Mania 3, click here for more details
