Fans of one-on-one, no-holds-barred fighting can head back to the cage in UFC Undisputed 2010. As in the real-life sports entertainment tournament, players engage in mixed martial arts matches, using fighting techniques culled from Boxing, Kickboxing, Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Wrestling, and Judo, as well as from Karate, Greco-Roman wrestling, and Sambo fighting, new to the 2010 version of the game. Gamers can take control of favorite real-life fighters from the UFC series, or create their own custom character to lead from obscurity to the championships. Instead of being tied to the move set of a particular martial arts discipline, as in UFC 2009, gamers have more freedom to mix and match moves from all fighting methods, developing their own personal style.
Other additions and improvements over the previous year's game include redesigned controls for ground grapples and escapes, the ability to make use of walls in the cage-enclosed octagonal arenas, and several character customization options involving both fighting styles and appearances. The second in the series from long-time wrestling game publisher THQ, the "2010" edition of UFC Undisputed is once again developed by veteran sports-fighting game designer Yuke's Co. ~ T.J.
