Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Predator is released as a PSP-exclusive that puts the player in command of a precision strike force of Ghost operatives on a top-secret assignment. Missions involve both tactical planning and combat action, in a format reminiscent of the classic Rainbow Six games, but designed specifically for play on the handheld. Each situation is different -- some objectives may be best won with a heavy assault, while others might be more easily accomplished using stealth and high-tech surveillance equipment. Players carefully decide how and when to take out each target in sequence, and then attempt to execute their plan in control of the squad leader in the field, from an up-close third-person perspective. Following an original storyline, related to events in contemporary Ghost Recon console games, players begin in Sri Lanka, with only three days to hunt down dangerous insurgent leaders and make way for a full-scale invasion force. The adventure progresses through 12 missions that lead the Ghost operatives to dangerous locations of political instability throughout a realistic near-future world.
As they gain intelligence and experience in successful missions, the Ghosts become more precise and proficient, and players have the opportunity to custom-develop their squad members' special skills. The game's Ad-hoc multiplayer mode has teams of up to three Ghost players battling computer-controlled squads in a variety of unpredictable battle locations. ~ T.J.
