If you're endeavoring to plan an excellent backpacking trip, don't forget to figure out what kind of camping water purification system you're going to use! A readily accessible and safe drinking water supply is imperative to any trip.

Enjoy The Ease of Using A Good Drinking Water Purification System While Camping Out

When you get something to drink out of the tap you don't question whether it is safe to drink, but when you are out in the wild drinking water purification is a big question mark for most people. Being able to ensure that your water is safe to drink is important that's why you should take every precaution to ensure that what you put in your bottle is safe. There are all sorts of bacteria and viruses that can make us sick and they may be lurking in your local lake.

While there are several forms of drinking water purification, some people don't realize how easy it is to simply bring a filter with you on your camp outs. Sure, you are probably thinking that it would be easier to just get a bunch of bottled water and take it with you but there is a flaw in that thinking. First off you would have to pack it up with you and if you are hiking to whatever campsite you are planning on staying at that can be a big hassle. Then you have to find a way of disposing of your empty bottles or haul them all the way back to your car to take them back to civilization with you. It can be such a pain. Filter systems are much more environmentally friendly.

So what drinking water purification systems are available to the average hiker and camper? Several actually, you can use filters or UV light and there are several types of both. If you are the avid hiker there are portable filters that actually fit into a back pack for easy hauling. These types of filters are lightweight and very portable but only filter about 1 liter a minute and you have to hand pump them. UV light pens are also great for those who are out on the trail for just one day but they can only kill the existing parasites and don't filter out the dirt.

If you are planning on camping out overnight then you might want to consider the larger "base camp" styles filter. These filters can hold up to ten gallons of water and allow gravity to do the filtering for you, much like you home filters. The only problem with these is they are bulky and are not very portable. Unlike the smaller filters they do tend to last longer.

With the many methods of drinking water purification systems available there is no reason to risk you or your family's health while camping out.

Getting your own camping water purification system is a great investment in your outdoor freedom. Having a reliable water filter frees you to go deep into the woods, and stay out longer without having to carry in your own water supply.
