Announcing the release of the Brand New Contour GPS Action Video Camera. This changes the world of POV Video for the better!
The release of Contour's new GPS camera ups the ante in the realm of point of view video with many updated features and the inclusion of GPS technology. A first on the market, which is nothing new for Contour, this camera is going to change the way video is captured and watched, because it has provided the ability to track your every movement, multiple times per second while recording speed, altitude and position. This feature allows you to view your recordings via the interactive map and video player and control all of the action as it unfolds before your eyes. Talk about securing bragging rights… because now you can prove it!
Another major advancement achieved by folks at Contour is the increased audio quality sported by the Contour GPS. Contour literally employed the services of a Rocket Scientist, yes… you read that right, to develop an audio recording system that gives every other camera a true run for its money. The new omnidirectional microphone has shifted its position toward the front of the camera, capturing more of the sounds you want, while eliminating excess wind noise and audio distortion. This ups the quality of every recording, because the sound quality matches that of the video. Leave it to Contour to surpass the competition.
So what other features does this camera have to offer… well, what do you remember from previous Contour models?
Rocking a similar streamlined and lightweight body, the Contour GPS camera weighs in at a minimal 5.2 ounces and virtually disappears when it's strapped to your body. An ideal camera for mounting anywhere the Contour GPS is enhanced by its patented TRail mounting system which connects seamlessly with a wide range of compatible Contour mounts.
The Contour GPS camera has a variety of HD settings for you to choose from, depending on your filming needs. Recording in true HD at 1920x1080 footage is recorded at 30 frames per second, providing crisp, sharp HD video at the highest possible resolution. If you happen to be recording sports like surfing or paddle boarding which require a higher frame to capture all of the action, you can switch over to 1280x960 mode. In this mode, any worries of cutting off heads or feet are eliminated, while footage is captured at 30 frames per second. Sometimes the need for a quicker frame rate outweighs the need for the high resolution, in this case, check out 1280x720 mode. Recording at 60fps, you capture all of the action, while retaining buttery smooth playback thanks to Contour's blur reduction feature. But occasionally an instance occurs where you find yourself running out of space on your memory card, and if you happen to have forgotten a spare… that's where the Contour HD mode comes in. Capturing footage at 1280x720 at 30fps HD video is still acquired, while far less space is used.
In addition to a range of HD video, the Contour GPS also allows you to snap still imagery at a range of intervals spanning 1, 2, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds, giving perfect stills in sequence with minimal effort.
The Contour GPS is also capable of housing a 32GB internal SD memory card… with a card of this size, you can record 8+ hours of video without any worries that you are going to run out of space half way through a shoot. Once you have filled that card, it's time to download your footage and edit them into professional videos, right on your own computer. With Contour's Storybook Application, minimal effort is required to obtain quality effects and before you know it, you're all set to join Contour's online community and ready to post your videos to all of your favorite social media sites.
