"E.T." is the new single by Katy Perry from her upcoming album, Teenage Dream. It was released on iTunes on August 17. The album will be released on August 24, 2010 in the United States. The album's lead single titled "California Gurls" featuring Snoop Dogg was sent to US radio on May 7, 2010. On April 30, 2010 Perry stated that it's the last day of recording the album and thanked Greg Wells, one of the producers. On May 5, 2010, Perry shot the album cover. On July 21, 2010, the official album cover was premiered via a live webstream with Will Cotton, at the Will Cotton's Art Studio. On July 23, 2010, the album's official track listing was posted on Perry's official website. Prior to the release of the album, three promotional singles were released exclusively on Apple's iTunes Store as a countdown to Teenage Dream. "Not Like the Movies" was released on August 3, 2010 and made a début of 53 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Circle the Drain" was released on August 10, 2010. as the second promotional single. The final promotional single, "E.T.", was released the following week on August 17.
