Rail Pass Description
Bring your heavy sweaters and get ready to enjoy seeing Switzerland in the most scenic way possible. Thanks to Rail Europe you can invest in the GoldenPass Tour of Switzerland which will take you through some of the most beautiful countryside imaginable.
Leaving Lucerne, you will embark on a train ride that will take you through meadows of edelweiss, past villages that look like they were lifted from a postcard, and see some of the homes of famous skiers. The GoldenPass Tour is an interesting self-guided tour, allowing you to take your time as you travel through Switzerland. You will have access on this pass to make an excursion to the Jungfraujoch. It sits over 2 miles above sea level and it is the highest altitude railway station in all of Europe. Make sure you have your camera out to capture the fantastic scenery.
Once you have explored the vistas of the Swiss Alps you will spend two nights in Interlaken where you can enjoy the wooded hiking path before moving on to Montreux. This town is on the shores of Lake Geneva and it is a resort lover's paradise wrapped in white snow. Let someone else worry about getting you around Switzerland. The GoldenPass Tour includes a Swiss Card that gives you 5 second class rail transfers, an excursion to Jungfraujoch and fives nights of hotel accommodations in 3 star establishments. Two nights are spent in Lucerne, two in Interlaken and one in Montreux. Additional nights, 4 star hotel, and first class rail travel are available with this pass for an additional fee.
