Attraction Info See New York City in a memorable way by taking a cruise around New York Harbor on an authentic clipper ship. The Clipper City is a 158 foot long sailing ship with a mast that rises 120 feet into the air. The tour on this traditionally rigged ship a steel replica of the clipper ships of the 1800s offers guests a full cash bar and delightful tour that brings guests up close and personal with some of the most famous sites in New York.
The tour starts at the Brooklyn Bridge and meanders through the bay to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, giving guests a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline. The ship will sail past the fortifications at Governors Island and Battery Park which are at the mouth of the Hudson River. Visitors may also have the opportunity to see the Verrazano Bridge or the Buttermilk Channel depending on the wind and the tide.
Clipper City is the biggest sailing vessel of its kind to be certified by the U.S. Coast Guard and was built based on blueprints that are part of the collection in the Smithsonian Institute.
