As a mother of 5 beautiful children, I know what it is like to need one of those legit work from home jobs. Money is tight, but you just can’t afford to go to work because you either don’t want to leave your kids with someone else, can’t afford to leave your kids with someone else, or both.
Sorting through all of the working at home jobs can be frustrating, time consuming and expensive.
I tried them all. Home assembly, mystery shopping, medical billing. I found out that they were either a scam or very, very expensive to get started in.
During all of this I kept coming back to one idea that I knew was making a lot of people a lot of money: blogging. I did a lot of research and decided I wanted to take the plunge and become a blogger. I had decided to matters into my own hands and stop looking at all of those other so called “legit work from home jobs”.
And do you know what? I did make money. Actually I made pretty decent money. Now, before I tell you how I did it, let me give you a little background on how blogging works. Even if you can barely type on email, stick with me because I think you are going to be pretty excited about this by the time you are done reading this.
First, you need someone to host your blog. This simply means someone who will put your blog on the internet for you. At the bottom of this article I have a link to the company I use. The fee to use their service is only $6.95 per month and you can have up to 100 blogs with them. It is a great value.
Ok, now that you have someone to host your blog, you need to create your blog. There is a great piece of free software called Wordpress that is made for blogging. The hosting service I use has a little script that you run by pressing one button that will install the whole thing for you and then you are up and running.
Now, once again, stick with me for this. I am going to tell you how I blogged and how most people blog and then I am going to tell you the solution I found that exploded my blogging income. It is so easy I can now do this in a matter of moment.
The thing about blogs is that Google loves them. If they are updated regularly, Google will send them traffic. Once people are at your site, you can display those tiny little Google Adsense ads and if people click on them you get paid. You can also write articles about products and if people buy them you get a commission. Pretty cool, right?
The only problem is with the “regularly” part. You really do need to work on your blog daily to start getting enough visitors to make you any money.
The second part of getting people to your blog is called a backlink. A backlink is a link to your site from other people’s sites. When Google sees lots of these backlinks, they view your site as valuable and send you more traffic and you make more money. The problem is that getting these backlinks takes time, time that you should be using writing new content for your site.
This becomes the biggest problem. Do you write new content or get backlinks? Unfortunately the answer to both is “Yes”.
And this is just for one blog. What if you wanted to have 5, 10, or 100 blogs? It would be impossible right?
Nope (This is the part that will get you excited).
