Ibanez guitars are the only Japanese made guitars to have a foothold in the North American music business. They specialize in both solid body and hollow body guitars. They also offer both electric and acoustic guitars. Ibanez also carries bass guitars ( both electric and acoustic ) too.
Ibanez guitar's solid body line comes in many alternative styles. These guitars typically feature 2 distinct cut away horns, although there are a few models that have the simpler one horn. The solid body line also has the X, so named due to the shape of the body. These guitars are made of either mahogany, maple, walnut, korina, rosewood or a mixture of any of these woods. Many of these guitars come in the standard'u' formed body. made of the same types of wood, Ibanez guitar also offers hallow body guitars. These guitars have the F holes on the front of the body. All of them have the round body and all but five have one cut away horn. Each also features large frets for simple use. Ibanez offers less models of the hollow body guitars than they do the solid body guitars. The biggest difference among these guitars is the pickups. They also change in color and inlays also.
The Ibanez family also includes bass guitars and acoustic guitars. Their bass line has both hollow body and solid body guitars. Like the regular guitars there are more solid body bass guitars than hollow body basses. Like the regular guitars the bass line is offered in several of the same woods except korina, instead the body can be made from ash. Like with the other lines of guitars, the Ibanez basses come in the standard shape. Apart from the wood that the guitar is made of and color, the sole major difference between them is the pickups.
Ibanez guitars acoustic line offers nineteen different series of acoustic guitars. Plenty of their acoustic guitars can be hooked up to an amplifier and used as an electric guitar. These come complete with onboard tuners permitting you to adjust the volume, just like an all electric model. All but one series of acoustic guitar have the standard sound hole ( f-hole ) under the strings. The MSC series has a smaller hole to the left, or above when you are holding it in playing position, of the strings.
