He represented what people attempted to attain to. Being one of the only "human-like gods" he was a sort of role model. Though the worship of the Greek pantheon has ceased, the legends of Hercules and his victory over the odds still inspires people today.

Not perfect but very nice none the less. This coin was struck between 211 and 210 BC at Rome. What is interesting to view about this coin is its size. This coin is a "quadrans", but is about the size of a Republic semis. Why is this? It is because the standard changed sometime not long after this coin was minted. Quadrans were then smaller and would remain that way until they would cease to be minted later in the early Roman Imperium. The 3 dots also signifies the value, effectively meaning "3 uncia". The obverse on this coin shows the ever popular Hercules, who was the ancient Greek/Roman symbol of strength and power. The reverse shows the classic prow with ROMA above, noting the sea faring culture of the Romans as well as its mint.
