1835 O.103 Bust half dollar, PCGS MS-63, ex Norweb Collection. This amazingly beautiful coin was offered as lot 3111 of the Norweb Collection on November 14th, 1988 as - get this - AU-55. Seeing as how the coin sold on that night for - get this - $1760 US Dollars, I'm guessing that those in attendance didn't see the coin as an AU. Neither did our friends in Newport Beach, and - very likely - neither will you. The coin is anybody's choice unc or better. It has an elegance all it's own, with full luster that literally glows through the thick and very rich patina of deep gray with hints of blue, rose, amber and green. When you rotate this coin in the light, the look is truly mesmerizing
