I ordered this for my grandson as an incentive to complete his homework assignment and do better in school. He's in seventh heaven. He's requested a boys' night for him and his cousins. Of course, he's trying to better his skills on the game before they come over to increase his chances of easy wins. One of his cousins has a Wii and the other a Playstation 2 or 3 so they're anxious to play on another console.
I've even gotten in on the game and love it. One question, I'd purchased a remote and have since returned it. I was wondering if that can be used as a controller?

This is the 2nd Xbox purchased, like the new size of hard drive, didn't like the fact they only give you the a/v hook up not the a/v and hd hook up as before.

After owning the original iteration of the Xbox 360, the Elite edition has been a welcome upgrade from the original console. The unit has a revamped power supply and processor which makes it run faster and cooler than it previously does. This means the likelihood of seeing the infamous Red Ring of Death (RROD) has been minimized and now Microsoft is even offering three years of coverage against the RROD which provides even more peace of mind. The black finish is very sleek and fits in nicely with a home entertainment system which includes many peripherals all of which are black in color. One thing to keep in mind is that this unit does NOT come with HDMI cables, so make sure you either order or have some laying around the house if you're intention is to play content in High Definition (HD).
In terms of the games, neither that are bundled with this edition appeal to me thus I haven't played them. On the other hand, I didn't buy the system because of the games, I bought it because of the system itself, so having a bad choice in bundled games shouldn't be an issue for those in similar positions as myself.

The bundled games (Lego Batman and Pure) are alright - nothing great, but not too bad either. I just wish that the 360 came with more cords than just the composite cable (red, white, yellow). It didn't come with the hdmi or the component cable.

I was happy to find out that the 2009 Holiday bundle packs are the Jaspers, but to play in HD you still have to provide a HDMI cable. The other Elite systems include a HDMI cable but the holiday bundle does not. Other than that this would've gotten a 5* review. PS3 is still the better of the 2 systems though...
