"Great steampunk boots for daily wear and events."2009-03-04

These are great boots. I bought them for both daily use when I want a bit of steampunk, and for all-out costuming at conventions and events. I normally wear a 10.5 shoe, but got these in a 10 and I'm glad I did. They were a bit tight across the top for the first week or so, but loosened up and they feel great now. Adjusting the lower buckles does actually help, they're not just for show.
The boots fit well around the foot, but the upper portion is quite loose around the calf. This is actually a blessing as your foot can breathe more, or you can tuck your pants into them easily for a more dramatic look (my aforementioned steampunk costuming purposes).
The leather around the toes and sides is very soft, but durable. A friend accidentally set a chair down on the side of my foot, and the spot just rubbed out with a finger, no permanent mark. (this is the brown leather, I can't comment on the black)
My only disappointment is the visible zipper down the back, but that's a minor complaint. It's not as obvious as if it were on the side, and the top snap helps to break it up visually.

I bought these boots for the Brand Name and because I like how they looked. Well I was not disappointed. These Boots are a very good investment for the price. The comfort and durability of the boots, seem to be of great quality. I have plenty of boots, these are the 1st pair that I enjoy on my MOTORCYCLE & just kicking around town. I bought these boots & My Wife bought me a second pair. Now I have both colors. Would I buy these again? HUH' I Sure would.

Sizes in these boots are just wrong, they are off by at least one unit. Also the boots look and feel very cheap.

I'm sure they are great boots as I've yet to be disappointed in Kenneth Cole. However, the sizes run about 1 and 1/2 sizes too big. Keep that in mind while buying online. Returning items is a pain and can take time. Luckily, mine was processed within a few days of its return.

Let me start by saying that these boots look so cool I just had to by them. They have a nice oiled exterior, smooth lined interior, glued in insole(looks like 1/8" poron with a thin leather top. Not to much arch support. The outsole looks like leather from the pics, but it is not. It is rubber or soft plastic, molded to look like a half sole but it is one piece. While walking, I felt every pebble or twig I stepped on, to me they're too soft for anything but the office or city streets. The zipper in the back seems a little fragile for boot application, but time will tell. I cannot tell whether the vamp is stitched or glued to the sole, but I suspect glued.
Made in India, they are OK in my book but the quality is nothing to get excited over. The fit is good for me, long enough but snug in the instep and across the top of the foot. You can actually take them off using the buckles, but the zipper is easier.
By the way, I removed the insole( with a little scraping to remove the foam) and replaced them with a superfeet green insole for comfort and support
All in all, nice looks, fair quality, definitely not for heavy use
