"Best tasting option for the Tassimo system"2009-01-28

Out of all the T-disc choices available, the Maxwell House Latte and Cappuccino are my favorites. I initially tried the Maxwell House discs because of the signifcantly lower cost than the Gevalia Latte, and as an added bonus, found that I far preferred the taste as well. As a previous reviewer mentioned, for those who like a more robust coffee flavor, any of the Tassimo Lattes or Cappuccinos greatly benefit from using two espresso discs with one milk disc. This necessitates purchasing an additional package of 16 espresso discs to use with every two packages of Latte discs. When I first got my Tassimo a few years ago, Maxwell offered packages of standalone espresso discs; but these have sadly been discontinued, and the choices you are left with now (Gevalia and some other European brands) are all less robust and more expensive. That said, I use Gevalia espresso for my extra disc, and can attest that while each of the discs is brewing, the one that captures your attention with lovely coffee aroma is the Maxwell.

The espresso favor is absolutely overwhelmed by the milk in this kit. I'd use two shots of espresso when making this beverage.
That said, I really like the Maxwell House espresso pods used in this kit. It's actually one of the better espresso blends for the Tassimo with the expected espresso bite, but not acrid. A nice balance. Unfortunately, the espresso does not appear to be sold as a standalone product.
The milk used in these kits is a concentrated 2 percent milk. It tastes richer than two percent milk. Some may not like the flavor of the milk. I do. I just wish you could taste the espresso!!

I love my Tassimo beverage system and the Maxwell House latte is also an excellent drink. The Gevalia is a little strong for me, so the Maxwell house is more mild. I like this better than the cappucino as it is less sweet.
