This is a 1936 Ford half ton pickup. The roof has been chopped 5 inches and been channeled 6 inches above the frame. The grille shell has been cut down 2 inches in the center. The steering on the truck (column and box) is from a 1948 Ford half ton. The truck is sitting on a 41-48 car frame and has a 4 inch front drop axle with 1939 juice brakes, Buick aluminum drums, rebuilt wheel cylinders and new pads. Truck also has a 1978 Ford pickup 9 inch rear end with all new wheel cylinders, springs and shoes. All new brake lines, front to rear, new 41-48 master cylinder. The motor is a Flathead V8, Offenhauser 2 carb intake and both carbs are 94's and have been rebuilt. The truck still runs on the original 6 volt positive ground system. Tranny is a Flathead truck 4 speed.
The truck runs, drives and stops excellent. The wheels and tires are from a 46 Ford, original Ford beauty rings, center caps and wheels. Tires are original Ford whitewalls and have the Ford script in the whitewalls and say Dearborn, Michigan. The tires are bald and have tubes on the inside of them.
The truck has an original Ford 1939 banjo steering wheel and owner do have gauges and glove box door that is included in the auction but are not installed. It will install the backglass, which is already custom cut. The front windshield has a crack to the far right corner. owner cracked it when put the frame back together. Also, owner is including both door window regulators but they are not installed. The side glass is not included with truck. owner will also weld up the drip rails where the section is missing, as owner have another piece of an original drip rail that can be used to fix the section.
The auction includes new front shocks and factory Ford headlight, which you would have to make your own mounts for both. owner think the headlights are 1939 big truck but not sure. The doors have had new bottom inner and outer panels installed and new rockers.
The bed on the truck is from a 1940 Ford that has been cut down 17 inches with a working tailgate. The wood in the bed is from an old firehouse and is tongue and groove hardwood floor and gas tank is mounted in the front of the bed and the bed steps down, which also has the wood underneath the tank.
All the custom work has been done by Damaged Goods car club which is located in Bay City, Michigan.
