They are polite, and they are prompt. If you are having an issue with something the chat guys can’t handle, they tell you to email ‘support@hostgator.com’. So you do that, and you get a response saying your issue will be addressed within the next 24 hours. You heave a sigh of despair, but hey! The email you have been waiting for is there in your inbox within twenty min. (I’ve tried this quite a few times, and they never fail to surprise me with their promptness).
I needed to switch my primary domain to a different one (one of my add-on domains), and they did it – no problem, and as a really nice gesture, they even waived the $5 fee they normally charge for performing this service, because I was having a problem restoring one of my sites from the backups I had created.
Now I don’t know if they normally do that, but they left room for surprises. At the end of my chat, I’m supposed to fill out a rating form, where they ask how likely it is that I’m going to recommend Hostgator to someone else, and I always end up saying, “Extremely Likely!” What else can I say? (This is why I’m writing this review, by the way. I thought I ought to do those guys a favor and give a personal testimonial of how I’m faring with their services)
