"Cuts grass great"2009-09-20

You have to get used to mowing with a cord, which is challenging at first. But this cuts through thick grass just as well as my old gas powered mower did. I also do not have the same grass/gas odor after mowing. I love it! My yard is a quarter acre, which probably makes it much more manageable than a larger yard with this would be.

This is my third Black & Decker electric mower/mulcher lawn mower. The first was well used when I gave it away while I was temporarily waylaid with breast cancer. The second one I purchased new and used until it just did not want to go anymore. The third one I recently purchased through Amazon.com because Sears had discontinued it. I enjoy yard work and am thrilled when I find the exact right machine with which to work. For lawn mowing, this is it. I want no other!

This lawn mower is everything it is advertised to be. Cuts my small 170 sq ft lawn perfectly, and mulches the grass nicely so there is no need for raking the grass after mowing. Easy to assembly and very easy to move around. I also liked the fact that the manual told you what setting to put the cutting height on for each types of grass. Electric cord was not a problem for me, never got in the way of mowing. I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lightweight electric mower.

This lawnmower is just right for our small city lawn. We had an old gas powered one that belched smoke and made a terrible noise, so this electric one is a great replacement. Cuts great, light, easy to use. Learning to remember the cord is kind of tricky, but so far no cord chops. There was 1 little glitch-the first one delivered didnt work. I have seen this reported in other reviews. But Amazon took it back, had it picked up and the next day there was our new one. Luckily we had saved the box. But I highly recommend this mower if you have a small area that you mow.

This has been my third summer using this mower. I live in a site condo so the yard is small. Cuts like a regular gas mower without the fumes and trips to the gas station. I love the lever it has to turn on rather than a pull cord.
Pros:
No extra cost for gas or worrying about running out of gas.
Easy on/off switch--no cord
Light weight so there is no effort in pushing it through thick grass
Mulches grass- so no mess to clean up afterwards
Cons:
Electric cords-- battery powered/cordless would have been ideal!
After the first season, I have mastered the electric cord and learned how not to let it get in the way. You just have learn a technique that works best for you.
