You know what miniature sets look like on film and in photos, right? You can almost always tell when you're seeing an image of a tiny set because of the in-focus areas and out-of-focus areas. Everything looks kind of real but isn't. With the Nikon D3000 Digital Camera you can take "real" and make it miniature. (See photo of the train below for an example of this effect.)
Ok, so you might be saying, "so what?" Well, this means you can get really super, fun, creative with any of your photos. Got a picture of a boat on a lake that didn't come out the way you expected. Kinda boring? Make it into a "miniature" photo and see how cool it looks now. This is one fun effect!!! And it's done in-camera and on a copy of the original - which leaves the original image unaltered, in case you need that boring image for something else.
