This vette needs to be restored - it has never been wrecked or in an accident - we purchased it four years ago with hopes to restore it. However - plans have changed and now we need to find it a good home. Car was purchased in Wisconsin - previous owner said it was garage kept there. Car has been parked outside for last 6 months.
FEATURES:
-V8 Engine and Automatic transmission (as far as we know - original)
-106K miles (not sure if original - we were told it was by previous owner but cannot guarantee it)
-T-TOPS
-Tires are in very good condition - plenty of tread - COOPER tires
-Starts up great - starts strong
-CLEAR TITLE
Vehicle was driven almost daily about 1 year ago and it was very reliable, always started up strong. Since then, car has been parked and has not been driven or worked on. It still starts right up - still very strong. We start it every week and let it run for a few minutes. It does need a lot of cosmetic work and most likely some mechanical work as well. We are not mechanics so there might be things that are wrong with the car that we can't possibly see. We are trying to be as honest about the car as we can. Here's what we know...
We know it needs:
EXTERIOR:
1. Paint - Overall the original paint job is still in 'ok' shape - there are several spots that have chipped or where the paint has cracked. We took several photos - there is one spot on the right side of hood that has a penny-sized paint chip on it.
2. Fiberglass - There is one small area on the bottom of the wheel well where the fiberglass has been chipped and will need to be repaired. Also - the antenna broke last year and chipped some of the fiberglass around the antenna base. See photos below.
3. Driver side mirror will need to be replaced
4. Door handles sometimes stick - doors still open and close.
5. Pop-up headlights - there is small leak in the vacuum lines so it takes a few minutes for the lights to open up.
6. Factory Car Alarm - we don't know if there is anything wrong with it. It went off once several years ago but we have never messed with it.
7. Rust on side exhaust pipes
INTERIOR:
1. Interior is all original (except for the seats) but needs to be completely restored. The interior is all there - just a lot of wear.
2. Power windows both work - however the driver's side window is off track and cannot raise/lower.
3. Speed-o-meter is stuck at 20 MPH.
4. Heater A/C switch needs to be replaced - it is difficult to move.
MECHANICAL:
1. Carb needs to be rebuilt/replaced/adjusted - sometimes when you turn the engine off, the car sputters and dies.
2. Needs an air filter.
3. Brakes need work - we think it needs a master cylinder.
4. There is small oil leak at the valve cover.
