My journey started back in 2001 when I finished writing my first novel The Sweet Track. After a whole host of ups and downs it wasn’t until 2007 that my book finally got published. Like many authors out there I too felt the pain of rejection letters and experienced the highs and lows that come with trying to get published. If only I had known what to do and how to do it from the start then maybe it wouldn’t have taken me so long to get it right.
When you’re starting out you think that writing your book is going to be the hard thing to do. Well, let me tell you now it’s a lot harder to get a book published than it is to write one. If you don’t know how to approach it properly, especially when it comes to editing and layout, then your book won’t stand a chance with agents and publishers.
I am a strong believer that every serious writer, no matter what their genre, has something to offer the world of writing.
