Chaquita Margarita-- 8yr old, sabino red roan mare, registered in PSHR--my kids have used her for riding at home mainly. We took the horses on a trail ride Sept. 26. Chaquita and Jimbo (my other TW)led the group of horses. Chaquita rode out very nicely with no spooking even when a large blue heron flew out of the creek we were riding alongside. She also went through several water crossings and muddy/steep hills with no problem. She is very friendly, very easy to catch, stands nice for tying, grooming, vet work, farrier and she LOVES baths and loads well. She was previously used for a brood mare and some trail riding prior to us owning her. She likes to be the boss of the herd, she lives with 3 mares and 1 gelding, she bosses the mares and the gelding bosses her. I feel comfortable having younger kids around her for grooming and petting and supervised riding. When riding alone though I feel she does need someone with experience. I have put young kids (10 and under) up on her while I have a lunge line on her and they use her while learning to ride. She rides out in groups better than alone, but does ok on her own too. She is 14.3hh. She is UTD on her vaccinations, dewormer, neg. Coggins and we just had the farrier out mid-August. Asking $1000 but willing to negotiate. Willing to trade for hay or good condition saddles/tack or other possibilities.
