"Pretty, Heavy"2009-10-07

This is a beautiful tricycle, but too heavy! My 4 year old still prefers a plastic one to this.

This is an awesome trike. It sets low to the ground which makes is easy to get on. The back wheels are also far apart which will make it nearly impossible to tip over. The seat also can be adjusted four different distances from the pedals, that way the child can grow into it. Finally the tires have air in them which will make it a smooth rider. Can you tell we love it?
"Could have been good...but it's not"2009-09-25
By A. Larsen (America)
I bought this for my 2 year old son for Christmas. The seat cracked when I tightened the bolt to install it. The front tire was not round, so that as soon as I aired it up, the sidewall popped out of the rim for about 6 inches, creating a giant bulge in the tire.
Schwinn sent me a new tire--with exactly the same problem.
The back tires also do it. They recommend 35 PSI, but they pop off the rims at 20 PSI. It's very frustrating, particularly because both tires have slow leaks, so I need to air them up every couple of days.
After 10 months, the wood back step is already faded, cracked and weather worn, despite my having applied 2 coats of urethane.
I will grant that the riding position is comfortable and my son absolutely loves it. When it's working. Which isn't often. I'm now shopping for new tires and tubes. Hopefully not cheap Chinese junk like the ones that came with the trike.
"Great Tricycle- Great Service from Schwinn"2009-09-23
By twin_mom (Longmont, CO)
I purchased two of these about a year apart and the kids adore them. The rubber wheels make this a easy trike to pedal (even for one of my boys which was having trouble learning on a plastic-wheeled one) and even more importantly for me- quiet! The style of course is great, which is what attracted me to them, but they are well built so I went for another. The second tricycle I purchased had a problem with the front bearing, which I drug my feet following up upon. I called Schwinn and probably had the most pleasant warranty discussion with someone *ever*...they asked what the problem was, asked for my shipping information and sent me a brand new wheel without blinking- even though it was 6 months since I had bought the tricycle! Love it. Great customer service and a great product at a decent price will bring me back every time.
"Coolest Ride for the Little One"2009-09-21
By Dara-girl (Kapolei, HI USA)
This is the kind of trike I wish I had when I was a kid. Shiny and sturdy! It wasn't the easiest to put together but that's because it has to be secured well to be safe. I'm generally not the handy-girl type but I was able to figure it out with a few screwdrivers and a wrench. My nephew adores his tricycle! And I'm happy that the seat and handle bars are fully adjustable since my nephew is growing so fast! My only complaint is that the enamel on the underside of the seat/wooden deck gets scratched/nicked easily now that my nephew is riding his trike everywhere. But at least its in an area that we can't really see.
