Handmade Cobalt Lightning Pen

This handmade roller ball pen is created from box elder, also know as Manitoba maple. Box elder is a wood that before the dyeing process has the color of standard maple. This particular piece of box elder has been dyed a dark blue color.

The grain, still visible after the process, has swirls and “lightning” shaped figures. The hardware is a brushed satin finish which gives the hardware a low luster that compliments box elder nicely.
