these cars were both used in the filming of the movie, starsky and hutch, starring ben stiller and owen wilson (and snoop dog). i purchased both the "jump" car and the "mcrig" car from the movie car builders representing warner brothers studio in california after the filming was completed. they are stored in my warehouse in tx. the jump car survived amazingly intact because the builders reinforced both the interior and the engine bay with steel roll bars and shocks (see photos). in the movie you only thought that owen wilson and ben stiller were in the car during the now famous "jump." in reality, technicians built an "interior shot" car and bolted it to a flatbed truck (mcrig), surrounding it with movie cameras that would capture their faces as they raced and jumped during the movie. only the left side of the frame was slightly bent. the right side made it through ok (see photos). there is no rust on the cars, other than what might have been there during the building of them-they are both stored in a large warehouse. whereas the interior is dismal in the "jump" car-see photos (a dummy was used), the interior is beautiful (although dirty from sitting) in the mcrig car because stiller and wilson were filmed close up in it. it has doors, windows, steering wheel, full dash, headliner, back seat, etc and rolls on a custom made platform trailer. the build work is amazing on this car! of course, they are both bright red with the characteristic "checkmark" white stripe. this is your opportunity to purchase both cars, enabling you to either make one incredible and authentic movie car or go into business for yourself promoting and displaying these unique cars. i have movie documentation from bob at cinema vehicle services (cvs) and original pink slip-title-on jump car. unlike most movie cars, there are no warner brothers studio contracts preventing business development with these cars. they are sold absolutely as a pair and absolutely in “as is” condition. please do not think you can drive either one home. the carburetor is missing on the "jump" engine-a souvenir for someone, no doubt. the jump car rolls well but has likely not run since filming. the mcrig car rolls on a custom made platform enabling easy loading. the first 11 photos represent the "jump" car used in filming. the others represent the "mcrig" car. i do not need to sell these cars. please see my feedback and email me if i might assist you in any way. know that you are not bidding to ask your wife if she would mind if you purchased these rare cars. ask her first and only if she approves, bid like you're going to own them (you can imagine what i went through 5 years ago with my wife!!!)-but she said "yes!". please do not ask my reserve. i am listing them in another venue, so i reserve the right to sell to the first sincere and qualified buyer. thanks for looking
