Pray without Ceases
Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for that is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.' one Thessalonians 16-18, NIV across the long year of trying to work out how I could partnership with Saving Grace Enterprises I have just known it might ultimately happen -all in The Lord God's time naturally. We've felt and had an attack of attack coming from the enemy's ranks to attempt to frustrate our aim. When we get busy in our day to day lives, it's not difficult to think'I'll pray later when I'm more relaxed' or'less busy' or'not so tired'. That'later' typically doesn't occur. If you are feeling the necessity to pray at the moment and do not, it is truly a direct refusal of the Lord God leading you into prayer. He is here to suggest and teach us and if we do not heed His direction, we aren't taking full benefit of the concession we have in prayer due to our Savior's finished work at the Cross and successive resurrection.Prayer isn't only a privilege, it is the power we have in the Holy Spirit. Prayer is direct communication with Omnipotent God. He is listening and He wants to hear from us.
God, our God, our big God Who is so wide, so deep and unfathomable in our finite being! I often think that may be like me wanting a chat with an ant, lol. It's a great thing God does not think like that huh? God wants to be in touch with us at every point. Doesn't that mean pray all of the time? Constantly? What God has been teaching me ( Dee also as we talk together a LOT ), is that He wants relentless contact, recurring fellowship with us. In my devotional commentary Devotions for a Deeper Life by Oswald Chambers today there had been this message to me from God ( yes He does talk to us in all kinds of alternative ways ) : And some dropped on hard ground, where it hadn't much earth, and instantly it sprang up, as it had no depth of earth ( Mark forty five )'.......This sort of self-sympathy, coming from the cares of this life, is carnal. It'll kill the essence of God inside you.
Jesus recounted, 'If you look at your issues rather than Me, the Word will be choked in your heart.' Devil will try his best to have you glance at the problems of your life.
Have you spotted how often Scripture warns us not to be concerned, not to worry? He tells us to cast our cares on Him, to trust Him, to attend on Him, and to worry not. May God help us to keep the thorns from being raised in our hearts and choking the Word of the Lord in us!' a method to always keep our eyes on Him is to be in sustained prayer. If we are always praying to God about each single thing in our lives, our eyes will not waiver, nor will our hearts.
One thing I am certain of, this joyous superb journey Dee and I are on, while at times unsettling, it is a blast when you give the reins completely over to God, keep in repeated communication with Him and just enjoy the ride! Pray without ceasing brethren and watch how God responds!
