Thank you for taking out the time to read this letter, I know there are many people today who are in some kind of situation however, I am in a critical situation and would love for you to read the entire letter before you decide what you are willing or can do to help.
I recently left my husband of 14years. I have three small boys ages 6/3 and 2. I was a stay at home mom and stayed in the relationship as long as I did for many reasons.
1) I didn't want to fail or become of the world or a static in divorce rates. When i said I do I meant it. I would like to say I never expected him to become so verbal abusive and controlling.
2)I stayed because of the boys until things started happening more and more in front of them. I finally had strength I needed to just leave and never turn back. When he refused any type of counseling it proved to me he thinks he has done nothing wrong. Being a Mother I feel like I have made so many mistakes already I didn't want to put another one on the list.
The day i finally did leave I moved to a different state with my 3 boys to my mother and fathers home. As i was thinking to myself how am I going to have the strength, he was clearing all but 2.00 from our checking account. He hasn't helped out financially since I left the only thing he has done is belittle me which has made me determined to make it on my own somehow someway.
By him telling me I will never be able to make it without him has given me the confidence and drive to strive.
I am very fortunate to have amazing parents however my dad struggles every minute of everyday due to COPED he has 1/3 of one lung left and is in and out of the hospital ICU continually. It makes it difficult for my mother to be able to care for him at her age but she keeps her head up high.
My father has a very weak immune system and shouldn't be around children because of the amount of germs they carry. With that all said they still put our family ahead of them and is helping us as much as they can. We also have put on a huge financial burden adding another 4more people to set amount of money which had made them to do without. With all of that they still haven't complained.
I have always been a firm believer to help others anyway you can even if you go without. That is how i lived my life until recently. I was really hoping that someone would be able to help my family. I have gone to the housing authorities for help in numerous counties. It was a very hard thing to do and not to mention discouraging because I was told either I was going to be put on a 3yr waiting list or not taking any applications at this time.
a lot of people that seem to get help from the state is the one who take advantage of the situation and figured out how to get all they can it is amazing to me.
I cant stay with my parents for much longer. I cant live with that my heart if something happens to him and it was because of us being here.
I have never had a problem with working however a little over a year ago I was diagnosed with lupus it makes it difficult to go and get a job. I have just recently applied for ssi benefits. However it could take up to 12months to get that. I have the strength to make it and succeed I just need someone to help me be able to get on my feet. I promise you in 1yr time I will be able to help someone like me and not need anymore help.
If you are in the position to help with housing or another way I would love to meet with you so I have the chance to prove to you I am a good person hard worker and a wonderful mom. just in a bad situation.
