In order to give our customers a better understanding of how the Montel Williams Health Master (Culinary) Blender really compares to the high performance true 2 hp, 3 hp, and 3.5 hp blenders, we purchased the Health Master Blender and tested it. We don't think that real raw food enthusiasts and health nuts will be happy with the Health Master Blender long-term. It is in our opinion not a true high performance blender. For little more money you can buy a 3 hp Blendtec HP3A blender, or the 2 hp manually operated Vita Mix 4500 Turbo Blender. The material quality differences speak for themselves.

The Health Master Blender has a 1.75 hp motor and a 1100 watt power supply. It is not strong enough to break down the nutrients as raw food nuts expect. We expect at the minimum that strawberry nuts, raspberry seeds, and flax seed be completely emerged into the smoothie. These standards can only be achieved with true high performance blenders, which have at least a 2 hp motor. A 3 hp and 3.5 hp blender are even stronger. They can do the job faster and more thoroughly than a 2 hp blender. A 1.75 hp blender is not going to last long if you use it for blending apricot pits, avocado seeds, etc.

The Tristar / Health Master claims that its blender is a 2 hp blender. Instead it has a 1.75 - 1.85 hp motor. The housing looks like a radio box with a speaker box on each side. I looked under the housing to see if there are wheels perhaps underneath. The blender-container assembled on top of the blender is too tall for people smaller than 5 feet 4 inches to handle easily handle the lid and container setup.

The one thing that I personally find very annoying is the deceit in advertising a blender as 'nearly a 2 hp blender'. Tristar is conveying to consumers that this is the best emulsifier (see dictionary for definition) or blender on the market. Folks, I hate to break it to you, THERE ARE BETTER BLENDERS THAN THE HEALTH MASTER. The expression 'Best' is a very vague description. In our definition, 'best' means whatever the consumer thinks which blender fits into his/her budget and what he/she thinks is the best for them. The best blender does not have to cost the most. But also, we want to point out, you have to draw the line somewhere, which blender is and is not a high performance blender that really micronizes and blends raspberry seeds, strawberry nuts, and can even blend avocado seeds. The Health Master Jedi certainly does not have his Energizer Batteries recharged enough to get really blending.
