Educational researchers from Texas A&M University said that jetted tubs and spas that are not frequently maintained in both private and public sectors serve as breeding home for potentially lethal strains of bacteria. They tested 35 water samples and found all of them had microbial growth.
95% of the samples taken found bacterial strains with feces, fungi was found in 81%, and 34% contained potentially deadly staphylococcus bacteria.
