In the 1950s and 60s the 2-bar facemask was a standard style worn by position players such as quarterbacks, running backs, receivers and defensive backs. Riddell has borrowed a page from the past in bringing back the glorious grey 2-bar facemask in its replica mini Throwback helmets. These 2-bar Throwbacks also use grey closed cel foam to mimic that worn in the era. Weve also resurrected authentic Riddell logos that are printed onto the chinstraps and back of the helmet, just as they were back then. There are no front and back Riddell nameplates, because they didnt exist back then. The chinstrap uses a stud-and-buckle mechanism that allows it to be snapped and unsnapped like the real thing.

A classic Step back in time! Riddell has carefully retraced every step that it took more than 50 years ago to correctly reproduce, in every detail, its RK helmet. The classic shape of the RKs slightly flared shell and handsome metal rives are complemented by the attachment of an original Riddell two bar facemask. The suspension webbing is identical to the original right down to the same brown thread that is used to stitch it together. Real leather jaw pads, gray toned strap and identical front style labeling make this helmet indistinguishable from the original.
