This historic home sits on an acre and a half. The three story white brick house was built in 1803 and has a plaque that states the house was standing during the Battle of Gettysburg. It is marked on some battlefield maps as the Forney Farm. The property was occupied during the Battle by the Confederate Army and the Forneys were awarded war reparations by the US Government.
The house includes a shaded wrap around porch with rocking chairs where you can rock and have your morning coffee. On the first floor you will find an eat-in-kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom and a small bedroom (sleeps one). The second floor features four bedrooms and one bathroom. The bedrooms include one king, two queens, and two twin beds. The attic is open, airy, carpeted, and includes one twin bed and satellite TV.
The property is located 3 minutes west of downtown Gettysburg and is across the street from Marsh Creek. Situated on an acre and a half, you can often see deer and rabbit as well as an occasional fox or groundhog. There are many different types of birds to see and hear including owls, hummingbirds, and woodpeckers.
The house is conveniently located to the battlefield, the Eisenhower Farm, shopping, Ski Liberty, golf, and downtown.
