Kyan is a 6 year old Collie-Lab mix. We rescued him in October 2003 when he was about six months old and he is now 45 pounds of pure energy. If given the opportunity, Kyan would run all day, every day. Because he was a rescue, we have no idea what happened to him prior to living with us. We think he might have been abused because he is a very anxious guy. He has never shown any aggression towards us and is a total sweetheart, but we feel he needs a patient person who will give him the time he needs. He is housebroken, neutered, has all of his shots and is very healthy. We would prefer him to be in a home without young children and other dogs. He gets along with our senior St. Bernard but does not get along with any other dogs. Although he play-wrestles with the dog and loves to chase our cat around the house, he has never hurt either animal.
He needs a home full of patience and love to feel calm. Our family continues to grow and we are no longer to keep up with Kyan’s energy level. My husband and I work long hours and we have two small children. We are unable to give Kyan the special attention he needs and as difficult a decision as this has been for us, we know he will be happier with someone who can take the time to walk him daily. He also requires an open area where he can chase tennis balls and bark at birds! Despite his energy, when Kyan is tired he will curl up on the couch or bed and sleep in a cute little ball of brown fur. Kyan is a sweet but needy little guy who would thrive in an active family setting.
