Although spots are filling up quickly, it still is not too late to
register for the 2009 Steel City Classic, presented by the Pittsburgh
NABA.
Whats new for this tournament?
- Due to the fact that new sponsors are being secured each day, the Tournament Committee has been able to reduce the entry fee to $750 (if received by August 3, 2009) and $850 (for entries after August 3, 2009).
- The Tournament Committee has come to terms with the Pittsburgh
Pirates, who will be offering discounted tickets for Friday, September
4th's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.. An outfield box seat,
normally $20, will be available for purchase through the Steel City
Classic at a cost of only $13 - a savings of $7 per ticket. Come out
and see the Best Ballpark in Baseball, according to the Major League
Baseball Players Association. Please refer to the attached flyer for
further information.
*A special discounted entry fee will be available for teams that
book at least ten (10) tickets, and higher discounts will be available
at each increment of ten.
- The Tournament Committee has also locked in BWP Bats as an
official sponsor. In addition to providing numerous maple bats as
tournament prizes, BWP will also be on-site selling maple bats at a
discounted rate of $40 per bat. That is a savings of over $15 each!
The Steel City Classic is proud to have BWP as a sponsor.
- Negotiations are nearly complete for lodging. Three different
levels of hotels will likely be offered with prices ranging from $70
per room/night to $120 per room/night. Every attempt will be made to
lock in as many rooms as possible at the lower rate, to ensure that
this tournament is economical for every budget.
