It was revealed by Radio 1's website and was released on July 21, 2009 in the US, a week ahead of the album. The new recording features a slightly different set of instruments to give the melody a softer and more radio-friendly sound. Apart from this the song remains exactly the same as the original version co-written and produced by Ryan Tedder.
