Self-mutilation is tragic. If you are depressed and you tend to mutilate yourself, you have to find real solutions for your problems, and overcome your depression without making things worse with your absurd behavior.
There are many things that you can do when you are desperate. Don't harm your own body! This is sad, painful, and increases your depression in fact, marking your life with horrible wounds.
Here is a list of things that you can do:
1. Talk with a friend 2. Draw or write something, expressing your emotions 3. Help others, forgetting your own problems 4. Go to a hospital and seek help if your case is serious 5. Write down your dreams everyday and translate them according to the scientific method; then, follow the wise guidance of the unconscious mind, which will help you solve your problems, one by one.
hinking about depression is...Well, it's...It's depressing.

If you thought about love, your eyes would get dreamy, your face would have a smile on it, your body would sigh longingly. Then, of course, if you thought about depression, whap! Bang! Your mouth would droop, your shoulders would sag, your breathing would be boring, your lips would occasionally be firming up as you tried to keep a firm upper lip.
Hm. Can you think of a purple elephant? Your body language might still be the same, huh? OK, how about if you thought about an ice cream sundae? That would depend on if you were on a diet, wouldn't it? How about if you thought about a Yankee's game? Hm. That definitely got somebody's attention. If I said "water" to a drowning man and "water" to a thirsty man, I'd get two different responses, wouldn't I? It's the same way with a lot of words.

OK. Here's what you do. "Pretend" you can put whatever is depressing you in your right hand. There it is in your hand. Depressing you. Go through the whole scenario and get depressed.
Now, put whatever it is that turns you on in your left hand. Figuratively speaking, of course.
Now, think about what depresses you. Quick, think about what turns you on.
Now, think about what depresses you. Quick, think about what turns you on.
Now, think about what depresses you. Quick, think about what turns you on.
You get the idea. Do it 10 times in a row.
Now, clap your hands, hold them together, and count to fifteen.
