In buying a new home, one wants to search for a Charleston real estate agent who is genuinely interested in helping the buyer find the right home for him or herself. Many Charleston real estate agents are simply interested in selling homes so that they can make the money off of the sale. While this is good for someone selling their home (they will be able to sell their house quickly and get the money from that sale), this is not what a home buyer is looking for in a real estate agent. With money as a driving force for so many of our interactions, wouldn't it be nice to find a real estate agent who is genuinely interested in finding the right home for the person buying? This might mean that the search for a house takes a little longer. This might mean that the agent does not get her money as quickly as she would like. I am going to argue, though, that this is probably something our money driven society could use a little bit more of. Why don't we slow down a little bit? Who says that we need to have everything we want now? I feel that if we apply this to home buying, then we may be able to have more people who find their perfect home instead of a suitable home.There are many things to consider when looking at Charleston real estate. If you find a real buyer's agent, you will have an agent who is aware of all of these. Do you have a child who needs to have a good school? Does the neighborhood surrounding the house fit your personality and lifestyle? Are your neighbors people who have the same interests? Are there other things you should know about your neighborhood - a neighborhood Christmas decorating contest? As you express your interests and concerns about the Charleston real estate market, you need an agent who is really interested in fulfilling all of your needs and can answer the questions that you have. Why just settle for a great house? Why not look for a beautiful home and neighborhood that you love and will fit your particular needs?Finding a house and an agent who will fulfill your particular needs will require a great amount of honesty and patience on your part. You must be willing to take the time to evaluate your honest needs from a house and from a neighborhood. There are many old, charming houses on the Charleston real estate market. There are many interesting neighborhoods in the area. If you are not really interested in finding a perfect match for you and your lifestyle, then there is no reason to look for a real buyer's agent. However, if you are interested in making your life richer even through your house decision, then you must take the time to evaluate what are the most important things to you in your housing decision. This takes a certain amount of time and a great amount of honesty with oneself. You have to be truly in touch with your own wants and desires. This takes some time and a lot of self-evaluation. If you are a buying a home and have a family, you have to take the time to evaluate the greatest needs of everyone in your family. This takes a certain removal of self-centeredness. You have to recognize others needs as well as your own needs.After you have taken the time to figure out the things that you want and need from your home, it's easy buying in the Charleston real estate market. | | | | | | |  | |  |
