Sec 1 - this is what separates our manual from most others. It gives you the 4 month off-season broken down into each day. No guessing, everything you are to do each day of the off season prepared for you. Sec 2-the DYNAMIC WARM-UP is a very important part of your training. This prepares your body for the more stressful work to follow. The way Kevin has designed it, the warm-up will also raise your conditioning levels. Sec 3-CORE training. All the parts of a strength and conditioning plan are very important but by far the two most important are the CORE training and lower body speed and power. Core training develops the muscles from the top of your thighs to just below the chest. Our manual has an amazing 8 DIFFERENT CORE ROUTINES!!! These routines will make you better in EVERY part of your game. Not just old fashioned sit-ups but the best full body core movements that are scientifically proven to make you a MUCH, MUCH better player.
SEC 4-LOWER BODY SPEED AND POWER-As mentioned, I strongly believe the core training as well as the lower body strength and power training are extremely important. In this section I have included all the best exercises to build rock solid legs. These exercises will increase your FIRST STRIDE POWER, the most important aspect of hockey, so much you will blow by the competition. I learned many of these exercises in Europe and you can see how these players EXPLODE on the ice. Olympic lifts are included as they are a tremendous way to build not only first stride power but also great balance and superior total body strength and power. This section also includes the best PLYOMETRIC exercises to make you a much more EXPLOSIVE SKATER.
SEC 5-UPPER BODY STRENGTH AND POWER-In a lot of programs this area is given too much attention. It is very important but traditional bench presses etc., will not improve your game very much. Again I have included the all the best upper body strength and power exercises to make you a better HOCKEY PLAYER not just increase your bicep size which has no carry over to hockey.
I have combined the best upper body strength exercises with upper body PLYOMETRICS to dramatically increase your shot power, strength for battling in the corners etc. You will certainly look much stronger but it will be functional strength-or strength you can use in the heat of battle not just at the beach!! Many of my trainees win the hardest shot competitions and these exercises are a big reason why!!
