Ortho Deer Repellent contains Bitrex, which is the most Bitter substance known to man. Deer learn to leave it alone. This repellent bonds to plant surfaces with a latex formulation which resists water and keeps the repellent working all season. You will only need to re-apply when there is new growth on the plants. It is safe and has no unpleasant smell (to humans). Once applied, it dries clear and shiny.
This should not be applied to vegetable plants that you pan to eat as it will make the vegetables taste bitter as well.
