If you are looking for work in this tough economy nationally and locally there are a lot of methods online and offline that people are definitely using like job boards. But there is one way that I’ve discovered that easily show who is hiring in my area or your area. This way is called faxing your resume to as many companies as possible in your local area.
Why is faxing your resume going to immediately show who is hiring in my area or your area. The main reason this method is effective and powerful is a resume that is faxed in to an employer who probably has not posted their job vacancies online gets noticed easily and gets a lot of attention. If you have a great resume and it is faxed into a company that can readily use your skills then you would have a notch up on any other resumes even before the actual job is posted. They would literally send your resume to any department that could use your skills.
We all know many companies have job openings but don’t want to spend the money on advertising. Well, a faxed in resume would literally go from the fax machine straight to the hiring manager’s hands. Like I said previously, resumes that are faxed in before a company posts a job carry a lot of weight because you are literally saving the company advertising money.
Can you imagine what were to happen if you faxed your resume to every company in town? Just think how fast you would find out who is hiring in my area or your area. Think of all the attention your resume would bring. You would instantly be due for several phone calls from hiring managers offering to schedule an interview time.
If you were to tackle this method on your own you probably wouldn’t get very far because it would be very expensive to try and send those faxes out to every company in town. There are companies that will make this process easier for you because they already have a complete database of every company in your city and know the fax numbers for the hiring managers.
