CLICK HERE To Search For Federal Grants For Electronic Medical Records I was sitting in a heart doctor’s office today watching my wife complete the exact same information that’s she’s completed at previous doctor’s offices all over again. I’m sitting wondering why doctor’s haven’t upgraded their systems by now. Why do we have to complete the same forms over and over again when we go to a referring physician? Why doesn’t the information follow us to the point where it is merged and all she has to do is sign her name? This led me to the issue of federal grants for electronic medical records and what our new government administration is doing. This is the year 2009 and our private doctors and hospitals are years behind on electronic recording. How do we create these very high technologically advanced pieces of equipment and make breakthroughs in medicine but our filing systems are still paper? That doesn’t make sense. If doctors cannot afford to upgrade their systems from paper to electronic then they need to seek out federal grants for electronic medical records. There are grants instituted by our President that will assist our physicians in revamping their medical records. There is such a need for medical records to be digitized beyond the paper route. The advantages seriously outweigh the disadvantages. I’m sure there may be doctors that have not taken the time to really research the intricacies of how and where these federal grants are being doled out but there are online websites that make this process simple. There are many people that are intimidated of writing grants because they can be a little time consuming or difficult but there are many grant writing kits and programs that can make getting federal grants for electronic medical records very simple. The money has already been released for these programs. The only step next is to initiate the process by finding where the source is. This is a real problem and doctors have to get on the ball and make some changes.
